In a scenario like this, I believe your ideal sequence of events could look like this:
1) Have dealership make you a new key,based on VIN #. They will probably ask to see your registration, so let's hope you have access to that... Also they may give you crap about your car not being available to pair the new key to it, but explain your situation to them.
2) Get new key from dealership.
3) Either tow your car to the dealership (in neutral) so they can pair the immobilizer to your new key, or have a competent automotive locksmith come out and do this.
You may be able to use your coworker's ignition lock cylinder + key + ignition switch to put it in neutral so you can tow it to the dealer (plug your ignition switch harness into this external combination of parts). This is only temporary of course, as the immobilizer won't let the engine run.
Another option includes an immobilizer defeat, which may save you some cash, but you'll likely still need to buy a new key from the dealer.
