Allroad suspension level module - how to 'reactivate' (aside from full VAGcom)

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
For some (still) unknown reason, the suspension of my friends 2003 Allroad locks out.
Once in that mode, it won't come up.

I normally use full VAGcom, erase code, run output test (often several times) to bring suspension back to life.

Temporarily, I would like to set him up that he can 'reactivate' the suspension himself (he is 2 hours away, and planning a weekend trip up north) until problem is found that sends the module into lock out.

Is there a way to run output test with a lesser version of VAGcom?
Is there a way to 'manually' run the output test? 2 hours battery disconnect does NOT work (tried already). OBD2 bluetooth adapter AFAIK only erases codes, but won't activate suspension.

I don't think so. It runs fine for a while; last time I cleaned the contacts at the compressor, valve block etc and run the output test to get it 'up'. then fine for a few weeks.
No 'out' again (and down). Friend cleaned contacts (just in case), but suspension module is locked out in error mode. And that module does not (appear) to reset on its own, or fuse out.

Probably CRC memory error, that locks the module for good. I had something similar on my car before I removed the whole thing altogether and went with coil overs. He might need new module since the old one is simply electrically failing inside.

    made the trip down.
    Suspension all the way down.
    3 codes.
Erased codes, compressor not kicking in.
Ran output test, compressor not kicking.
Wanted to check fuse to compressor, but forgot what fuse it is (not in drive side dash fuse panel; I think one of the big ones under kick panel? Need to check notes from work on other Allroads).
Put 12V directly on motor: compressor works.
Note: car apparently at one point received a different compressor. Original connector replaced with male/female insulated spade. Connectors looked corroded.
    Cleaned connectors. Quick test: running.
Further cleaning, contact cleaner and di-electric grease.
    Still erratic compressor running.
Decided to end this. cut connectors out, soldered directly.
    Run output test.

    All working well know.

Ordered Full VAGcom (with Can Bus, since friend also has newer Passat) for friend.
