9th post down in that thread, using 'window weld' to fill in the voids in the bushings. Is that what you were thinking of?

I recall a thread where the fella used a 2 part poly kit and a lid from a spice container as a "poly mold frame if you will", let dry, cleaned it up and it looked damn near like an aftermarket option. Looked as though it might be a great long term DIY solution.
I have done the windoweld DIY to my AR as well as my b5.5 passat and noticed a big improvement however, its a bit of a waiting game to see how long it lasts.

I was thinking about doing this.. Did you go it while it was still installed and just crammed the windowweld up in there?

I have a set of used OE braces for the diff, i'll sell them cheap if anyone is interested. The dogbone on the back off the diff and the smaller one on the side. PM me if you're interested.

I had removed it from the car, filled the voids with window weld, re- installed the following day once dried. Just as a precaution, i did use a jack to help support the rear diff.
