    Hi all, right I imagine a topic that comes up all the time thanks to us 2.8 owners.

    I have had my 2.8 quattro b5.5 for a bout a year, its a low owner, low miles, well equipped model, and have loved every min, but the inevitable has happened, I want more now.
    I have recently looked at selling and buying an S4, id put about £2,000 on top of mine to buy a an S4, but here in the Uk that gets an older car than mine, with more miles, more owners, less spec and the only benefit is the 2.7tt and the S4 badge , and i'm finding it hard to justify it.

    This is because, I can get the 2.7tt from an a6, rebuild it myself with a friend, and get it fitted, for less than £2000, (any DIY threads BTW ?) so is this a better option? , as my car is better than any S4 in my price range.

    And then I thought, I may be able to get another friend to potentially make me a custom manifold and supercharge my engine, not PES G2 as they are thousands for no point, but pick up a supercharger and make it fit my engine, (shouldn't be too hard I dont think). Also would the Supercharger off the 3.0TFSI engine fit my 2.8 heads, as I believe its only the pistons that change it from 2.8 to 3.0 ? or is this not possible ?

    ALSO, bonus question, is RWD a really bad idea for a daily ?

    provided your car is a facelifted model, I would say 2.7t swap. Direct plug and play with harness and ecu into stock wiring and mounts. The parts needed can be had cheap and the work isnt bad at all if you have a decent set of tools and can follow a DIY, as there are many out there concerning 2.7 engine pulls/ installs.

    Depends, s4 also gets you s4 bumpers which are much nicer. A 6speed which even with its faults is stronger, I would probably upgrade to a s4 over trying to make ur own.

    Unless ur 2.8 has alot done already. Then I would look at 2.7 swap but it would need alot done.

    Supercharger would be a waste of time imo.

    4.2 swap is popular for a reason. Would look into one of those if ur planning to keep the car.
