Driver side clank/rattle when applying brake AND hitting bumps.

Pretty much what the title says. There's this rattle or clank that happens as you hit bumps and as long as the brakes are applied. No brake, no rattle or clank. If I had to describe it, it almost sounds like brake hard lines hitting right under driver side floor by the door edge kinda like where your left foot is resting maybe. It's really weird and it's not rhythmic or anything. Doesn't happen if you're just applying brakes, so it's not the brakes. If anything, it would be whatever's under load while braking and hitting bumps, but even light brake application does it, so it's not like a weight shift issue. WTF? I'm gonna get under it tomorrow, but figured if ask to see if anyone's had the same issue. It's mind bottling.

No, thank you for the suggestion, but I would have thought about that. Just started to happen within the past week or so. I put up the front end today and looked at the bushings of the upper controls arms and while there is some very minor tearing of the rubber at the crease/stress points, its nowhere even close to being where it would need to be to actually have metal to metal clunking together or anything. Given that both sides are marginally even showing this and they are about both the same, I would think that both would make the same noise if that was the problem. Only the driver's side does it per exactly what I wrote in the OP. It's very strange and considering this isn't my first Audi, I've not heard this before. The closest thing I can think of that even happened on a previous Audi is where the front engine snub mount bushing was gone and the trans would make a small knocking sound under the front armrest/under the shifter when going over some bumps and/or braking accelerating in certain situations. I haven't looked at the engine mounts, but no soft codes in VAGCOM last time I scanned it a couple of weeks ago and I'm not really too sure if the 2010's had the sensors in them anyway, but I dunno. Anyone experience the sound producing scenario in the OP with the driver's side engine mount busted?

Thanks for directing me over here Swank. The sound is similar but not in the same circumstances. Mine doesn't matter if the brakes are being applied at all. I did however have stainless lines added when I did brakes a while back. Maybe they moved around and are hitting something now. Nothing makes your beautiful car feel like a POS more than a terrible noise, am I right?

Found the issue. The left/front most bolt that holds the AK to the subframe was loose. No idea why it was but it was and that was allowing the AK/subframe to flex and clank whenever going over a bump or anything else described in the OP. So, if anyone ever has a similar issue, check those bolts holding that chassis brace to the subframe.
