Trusted shops in Seattle/Bellevue for Q5 mods?

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
    Hi everyone!

New owner of a 2016 Q5 but not new to the Audi family. Love the car so far but want to make some modifications to it including sway bar and alu kreuz install... honey comb grill install (requires some modification to the grill itself), etc. Do any of you know of a recommended shop that can do these installs/customizations that you trust in the Seattle/Bellevue area? I come from Vancouver but recently moved to Seattle so I don't have any reference.

    Thanks!

Achtuning in Redmond. They are super knowledgeable and stock almost anything you'll need for your car. Ask for Kelly, Dion or Skylar any of those guys can take care of your needs.

Happy to report back that Kelly at Achtuning was awesome. Really had a great experience with this shop (though the install didn't go as smoothly as planned - not their fault though). Kelly is a great guy to deal with, clearly knows his stuff and is very accommodating. The car was lowered, rear sway bar and new wheel/tire combo was put on. They did it according to the budgeted and quoted time and were very transparent throughout the process. He sent me pictures to show me the ride height. Finally, the thing I appreciated most was that Kelly was exceedingly careful and did not want to take any risks when he identified them. Instead of installing something that may have worked, he didn't and called me because he didn't want to compromise safety. He didn't let this stop him though and offered to try out other solutions until we came up with one that we were both happy with. I would go back to Achtuning again for sure based on this experience.

Contemplating a tune on my 2016 that is under warranty. Does anyone know if Audi Seattle or Bellevue is cool with mods or are they real sticklers for anything not stock? I know it's a general question but just wanted to get your thoughts.

tune at your own risk, if it gets tagged as TD1, you will be out of compliance to your warranty and if you happen to have an issue with your engine you might be SOL with Audi.

Neither audi seattle nor bellevue have control over this. For warranty work they will have to hook up your car to audi server in Germany, and that server will get all the data from your car, if audi HQ thinks you have/had a tune, you are SOL.

I'm a big fan of Benchmark Motoring in Bellevue. They do outstanding work.

They have done everything to my S4.

Yeah, they are definitely not the cheapest shop around. That being said, you get what you pay for as their quality of work is second to none!

Just sharing where I had work done and had a great experience!

Don't get me wrong, definitely appreciate the feedback and response! I might check them out eventually but for now I will keep shopping around.

Bought my car from Audi of Seattle and had stg 1 at 4k mile and haven't had TD1 all the way through the end of my warranty. Not saying this is a standard practice but they guys there knew my car was heavily modded and had some nice comments. Nothing related to the tune was ever refused. Had an oil leak, repaired under warranty. Issue with door, warranty. Just my experience and by no means take this to mean you'd get the same.

Do you have a service advisor that you recommend at Audi Seattle? That's great to hear. I have heard from Achtuning that Seattle has been fairly mod friendly.
