Differences between The b5 a4 and S4

Hi all, anyone know if I can use an A4 piece of glass to replace my 2002 S4 sunroof? TIA

EvilllEmpirE, you must have a hard time reading. I said the "majority" meaning, most stage 3 s4s dont run 11s at full weight. Other then the 11.9 that the a4 to s4 ran the other day. There arent to many other stage 3 11sec slips at full weight. The silver bullet wasnt at full weight, atp was in the 12s with there 28rs stuff. I dont think there are alot more out there. Could be wrong tho.

There are a few other S4's in the 11's with full-weight trim...but generally they'll be in the lo to mid 12's

Ari's Imola ran his 11.6 with full interior...and there a a couple others (meaning a few...some in the PEB camp) Also...not every S4 that has ran 11's has posted their times on S4biturbo.com, so you don't hear about the few other passes that guys have made. Don't worry though...you'll see all the slips soon enough...now that there are more and more Stage 3's daily and tuning/dialing them in via Lemmi has improved dramatically just in the past year. Then again...I did say that currently, the majority will "generally be in the lo to mis 12's" easily

and on another note. How many turbo options are there for the 1.8t. 6 or so. How long has the 1.8t been out. Its simple that the 2.7t is just beginning to explore other turbo options. The tuning is advancing and the s4s are making bigger numbers than ever. Just sit back and wait

I doubt a stage 3 s4 will touch 11s in full trim. Other then 11secs4 the majority of the times i have seen with stage 3 s4s are mid to high 12s. Weight red helps alot, look at 11secs4. I have my car down almost to a 10/1 hp/weight ratio.

a lot of stage 3 S4s have weight ratio better than yours...I know a few that dynoed at 400+whp while most dyno at 350+ whp and weigh about 3400lbs.

btw-When did i say i had the best hp/ratio ratio? Im sure i dont, the 2.7t motor is a whole dif beast.

s4s > a4s. that is all.

if i wasn't a law student, i'd trade my a4 in anyday for an s4. then again, give me a couple years, and i'll be able to afford blown turbos and what not =P or just get a b7 rs4 maybe (haha, i'm dreaming)

I just went from an A4 avant to an S4 sedan and the S feels way more solid.
I cant imagine a former A4 owner missing anything when going to the S. Its a completely different animal, 100% for the bettter.

Alright not trying to thread jack but i think this is a good place to post this and get a good response. Well i have a silver on black pleather a4 1.8tqm with 42000 miles.
Performance mods: Dahlback chip, custom ehaust, SPEC Stage 2 clutch and 11lb flywheel, custom intake, gfb dv, neuspeed sways
Exterior: oem xenons, modded s4 bumper with s4 fogs, painted lowers, m3 lip spoiler, rs4 grill, boost guage. 18" ADR rims.
And i also have 2 12's.

Well last night i took one of my friends for a ride and right on the spot he offered me $16500.

Now my question is that i was planning on going big turbo with this car in the next few weeks, and now this offer came up. Since you guys have soo much knowlege on s4's, should i sell the a4 and try to get an s4? Could i get a decent nogaro or white s4 for around 20? I would really prefer it already be a stage 3 because i would want something thta would be faster then a stage 3 a4. Also J-Logic, does the extra weight bother you at all? thanks guys if this is the wrong place to put this, i apologize.

I would love to have a S, but it would take another 10k on top of what i paid for it to get it to where it will do what my A4 will do. Can ko3s hit high 12s without boosting them like hairdryers? Or would i need ko4s?

I gained 600 lbs going to the S4 (from fwd A4). It isn't tossable in the same way. Sure, it feels much more solid - it feels like it weighs 600 lbs more. It feels secure, planted, and heavy. I still have a 2000 lb car in my garage for the summer, so I get my tossable fix in with no problem. All things being equal, I prefer a lighter car, but others like that luxurious heavy feeling...
