Back in the Audi Fold... first mod, Chipwerke

Hey guys! it has been a while since I had an audi in the stable... just picked up a 2015 S4, Sepang Blue, Black Optic, DSG, sport diff, H&R springs, and some other goodies.

    first impressions:

+ Car is quite light on its feet, and accelerates nicely off the line.
    - top end is lacking, and certainly doesn't pull up top like my e39 m5.
+ handling is quick and precise.
    - steering a little numb.
+ seats, very comfortable and supportive.
= adaptive suspension, nice option. for my local streets, it is best left on comfort most of the time.
= bang & olufsen, decent, but certainly not on the same level as it is in the A7 and A8.
+ DSG, jesus this thing shifts fast! makes me not miss a manual quite so much!

    first mod:

    Chipwerke pro

Settings at 5-1, 94 octane E10 gas. Woah. Huge improvement over stock. Even at half throttle it is much improved. Shifts are still fast, (ie, non of the lag mentioned by some), however, after the shift, there is a moment where it seems like boost is building... almost like turbo lag, then it hits hard and pushes back in the seat with serious thrust. Finally has top end acceleration closer to that of my e39 m5. Huge thumbs up on this product. Purchased it monday night, and had it at my door (in canada) Wednesday afternoon. Install, as mentioned by others, was fast, straightforward, simple. results immediately noticeable. went for a couple fun drives yesterday, and accelerating out of the apex, with the sport diff and the added boost was exactly what i was hoping for!

not sure where i am going to go from here, whether i will do any further mods, or just enjoy it as is for a while...

anyone else have any suggestions on "must do" mods?

what are the best "bang for buck" mods you have done? (be it performance or otherwise)

I have not yet done any Vag Com mods, as i just discovered that my old vag com cable (a KII cable) is super out of date, and doesn't work on anything modern.

anyway, that is it for now, i would love to hear any comments or suggestions though!

Personnally my BestBangForBuck upgrade was definitively Unitronic Stage 2+ with flash @ home.

    Runners up
-USP Intake (picked up used, great price, great condition) easy to install and you'll love the sound!
    -CR15

I'm not mentioning H&R springs since you already have them ;)

Around Montreal its really easy to find, but you are in the US therefore probably close to a solid source of E85, which is nicer!

True! I have never even seen e85 in western canada. Not sure if it is available here.

Intake, CR15 and rear sway, Drivetrain mounts, LEDs, better sub, new HE, Stage II+, brake pads, amber marker delete

I think that about covers what came off the top of my head.

I just looked at their installation video and had to quit half way because of the mess they created in the engine bay...I'm in the market for a ecu tune as well, I guess piggyback is out of the question

I have my CW routed by my intake.

Still not the cleanest solution but way better than their location. (Plus that's where my new AWE Coldfront Res will go )

I will see if I can dig up a picture

Mine is zip tied on the headlight wire bundle, right in front of the intake behind the passenger side headlight. I ran the drivers side bank wire over the front of the supercharger cover and made sure it is not near the pulley underneath. You just have to use zip ties to clean up the wiring a little, it's really not bad.

Back in the Audi Fold... first mod, Chipwerke

Does chipwerke add any low end / partial throttle power for daily driving? Or is it mostly full throttle high end power?

I noticed quite a bit in the mid-range and not so much up high. Granted I am already stage I.

I noticed gains at rpms from about 3.5- 4k up, with anything from about 40% throttle to WOT.

So when leaving an intersection at half throttle, the car really moves.

I've been bouncing between 4-1 and 5-1, I've noticed increased power throughout the entire rev range. It's definitely noticeable in traffic, partial throttle. Much more umph down low without shifting down.

I like the power on 5-1, but dislike the hesitation...I'm sticking with 4-1 for now and going legit tune in the future.
