Question Flickering LED Fog Lights. Any Suggestion on Brands?

Heard a lot of great reviews about OPT-7 lights. A company that's been in business and in the industry for a while. Products made locally in Orange County, CA. So I decided to give their product a shot.

Purchased a pair of H11 LED fog lights. I bought the CREE Series. It's supposed to be the brightest line they carry. They sure look good when they're on.

    http://www.opt-7.com/cree-series-led...acement-bulbs/

The only issue that they flicker once you turn the key in the ignition ...even with the light switch completely off.

Could it be that these bulbs aren't "CANBUS"?

On another note... I installed LED city lights on the car last weekend (http://www.autolumination.com). I ended up buying a second pair (http://www.ddmtuning.com/Products/194Canbus-3x2323-W) only because the first set had a 6000k - 6500k color to it. Very very light hint of blue rather than the crisp white I was going for. Anyways... I put on the DDM brand LED CANBUS city lights, and they too flickered before staying on.

Not only that... the "bulb out" warning signal showed up on the dash from last nights install of the same type of DDM CANBUS LED bulbs for the license plate.

Are these cars really that sensitive with the electronics? Or could it be the quality / type of bulbs?

Keep in mind that this is the wife's car, and it sucks that I do small mods to make the car look good and all I get in return are flickering lights, error messages, etc.

What brand(s) are you guys using? Any errors / warnings?

Here's a quick before and after shot, along with a short video showing the flickering. Kind of cool for second, but long term... it'll be annoying.

(You're probably thinking... "Dude! It took you that long to install the fog light bulbs?!" I kept trying to figure out to get the DDM Tuning bulbs to stop flickering. I gave up and put back the first ones I bought.)

*** I am fully aware about DDM Tuning's "not so good" quality. But the majority of the complaints stem from their HID kits (...which I am not fan of their kits anyhow). However, LED's have a very similar in design anywhere you purchase them nowadays. Kind of ironic cause the ones I bought from DDM are acting up. The same DDM 194 LED bulbs don't give me any issues on my AMG.

All input, information, suggestion, and opinions are much appreciated.

    Thanks in advance.

The flickering is from the car doing a bulb check when the car is first started. It sends out about a 1 or 2 volt pulse which is not enough to light a standard halogen or HID bulb but enough to light an LED. It is not that bad with our cars as opposed to some BMW's that I have seen where there's flicker every 20 seconds when the car is running and the switch is off.

As far as the bulb failures that you are getting, try another brand. The united accessories brand is very good. I have installed them in Audi's, BMW's and Mercedes and haven't had any problems.

    Thanks bro.
I bought a pair of plug-and-play resistors. I'm hoping that will fix it.
If not, I'm going with the brand you mentioned.

    *** Update ***

Put the resistors in, and nothing changed. Fog lights still flicker.

Not only that... because the headlamps are OEM halogens, I've decided to try out the new LED's for the low-beams. They're as bright as HID's (if not brighter).

    However, now they flicker too.

Is anyone else running LED low-beams on their halogen housing?

The brand I'm using is Sabre LED from DDM Tuning.

So now, when I turn the key, both my fog lights and low-beams flicker three times simultaneously.

Really irritating to be having these small issues that just keep coming up.

If you never got this figured out, I have Nighteye LED bulbs in as my fogs and high beams in my B6 and have never had one problem. They are amazingly bright. Headlights with halogen reflectors are the way to go with LED's though as projector lenses cannot get the light to reflect properly with these types of bulbs, trust me I tried. With that said, if I were you I would run all LED's in my lights, low/high/fog and enjoy never needing to worry about your drive at night for the glorious amount of light output you will receive and they just look awesome, perfect color.
