    SQ5 Wheel Questions

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
Just picked up my new 2016 SQ5 last week. Looking into getting some winter wheels and tires. Pretty much know nothing about them. Looking at this set from a fellow audiziner:
    http://www.audizine.com/forum/showthread.php?t=715088

Can anyone out there confirm that these will fit my SQ5?

Was thinking of Blizzaks. Anyone driving on DMV2's? Anyone recommend any of the other tires in the Blizzak line?

Those wheels wit fit fine. 18"s are iffy, but 19"s will easily clear the brakes.

You sure? I had those for my winter wheels until I put them on and they did not fit. The SQ5 wheels can go on a Q5, but Q5 wheels do not go with a SQ5. Check the offsets and sizes. I'm not saying I'm 100% right, but when I used that wheel with a snow tires it didn't fit.

If they are near you then maybe just go over and do a quick test fit. The SQ5 brakes are significantly larger than the Q5 brakes so it's very possible that OEM Q5 wheels will not fit the SQ5, at least not without requiring spacers. Unfortunately no part of the wheel specifications are useful for determining caliper clearance.

I will have to drive a bit to meet up with him to pick up the wheels.

    Well, I found this:

    https://parts.audiusa.com/a/Audi_201...S/1385290.html

The wheels look like #4, no? So looks like it may fit?

Are you sure they were on a Q5? I didn't think ET39 was a stock size for the Q5.
If that's the only issue, you'll want spacers anyway because they'll be so tucked in.

    FYI 20" / 21" OEM are identical to the Q5 and SQ5

Funny, expensive story.... I bought the same rims you are trying to buy, had them black powder coated, bought new Blizzaks and was absolutely thrilled that I was ready for winter. The detail shop that stores my wheels/tires asked if a customer can see what they look like on their SQ5 and I said, sure by all means but please be careful of them. They always do me favors, I have no problem of returning favors back. Well when they put the front ones on, it does not clear the brakes unless you use spacers which I'm not interested in using. So with that being said, I'm out a total of $2k but luckily I found a guy with a Q5 that needed snow tires/wheels and sold them for $1,900. A hundred dollar loss and a lesson learned...... Now I bought a set of 21" Oem wheels used that were just powder coated and put a set of Pirelli Snows on them. I'm sure I will be good for winter now.

Correct! 20" and 21" are fine for both Q5 and SQ5. As far as 19", 18", and 17" not interchangeable between Q5 and SQ5. OP is looking at Oem Five Arm 19" from a Q5.

    @jpsjr,
Thanks for the advice. Going to pass as it looks like they're not going to fit. Really glad I checked with you guys.

Really appreciate all the help. Now to try to find another set of 19s.

It is true, but exists an exception for 19"

Audi winter set 7x19 ET37 can on both models Q5/SQ5

I just got my 18"s from Tire Rack last week for my SQ5. I just went with the cheapest wheels since they're only winters. They had some Enkei 18x8 Performance BR7's on closeout for $117/ea. and the DM-V2's. I had DM-V1's on my old car and was exceptionally happy with them both performance wise and wear. I called and spoke with Tire Rack, and they said they would fit just fine. I will probably double check and throw them on this coming weekend to be sure. Obviously those guys have lots of experience.

Entire package before cashback was $1242 shipped.

Nice - that's a great price. Put up some pics if you get them on this weekend.

I wound up buying some mint OEM 20" 5-V-spokes and like new Pirelli Winter Scorpions this past weekend from another Audiziner. Great transaction and I got a fantastic price. I originally wanted to go smaller for better ice/snow handling but the 20's should be better when it's dry. Can't wait to get them on.
