2013 Audi A5 B8.5 Quattro Upgrades - Questions, Answers, and Progress

I'll start by saying I'm new to the forum and will have tons of questions. I recently picked up a 2013 A5 DSG and instantly got the itch to mod. So far the only mods I've done are powder coating the wheels and installing aluminum pedals. The next mods I'm planning are the RS grill, dual exhaust, and hopefully an RS shift lever. So some questions...

1. Can I easily swap the current shift lever with an RS ball type shift lever without having to heat/twist the plastic rod since I have a B8.5?

2. I have the Audi Connect stereo without GPS... it's pretty awful. I've added the Tune2Air so I can at least use BT and my phone but it's a mess with Android. Has anybody upgraded the audio equipment to the newer MMI setup in say a 2016 A5?

Alpine does a fantastic upgrade which has all the functionality of the MMI and a lot more

There is a UK user on here with the unit installed, He posed up some very cool pictures of the unit in use, it's way ahead of the MMI system.

That Alpine setup is insane and that's exactly what I need. Of course it isn't sold in the US... ugh.

So will that shifter be plug & play? No mods necessary?

I would enquire with Alpine, there's no reason it won't work on a US car if you can load the correct maps.

I'm not sure on the shift knob, I think there's a few guides knocking around, or contact the seller, he goes by the name Littledevil on the forum (real name Ales) he may have fitting instructions.

Good to know. I only have an A5 and it has the handle in the first photo... so I'm looking forward to the upgrade. Looks way better!

And if anybody has a good resource to get this setup to the US, let me know.
