    Intermittent no-start

I've had this issue popping up once a week or so lately...

I sit down, put the key in to start it, and the starter cranks but the engine doesn't fire up. It'll go for the entire start cycle (10 sec I believe). I have to turn it off and take the key out to try it again...sometimes after 5 attempts it won't go and I have to get out and try again in 10 minutes (not tested, random time frames, 3 minutes, a few hours just whenever I decide to try again)...then, it'll start right up. I'll go to the store...get back in and it'll start right up no problem.

Any ideas? It has a new battery (less than 2000 miles since install)

Are you getting any EPC lights once it does start? Have you scanned for codes? My first thought would be low-pressure fuel, but I'm just spit-balling.

As koolade said. I would blame the relay for the low-pressure pump. Sounds like a faulty relay-coil that sometimes decides to give contact and sometimes not. Enough is you getting in and out of the car, to shake the relay a little and the magnet on the switch will misbehave.

Read for codes and if you get the fault code for "Oxygen O2 Sensor Heater Circuit Malfunction" that means that your low-pressure fuel pump doesn't have any current when your starter turns - the O2 heater circuit is connected to the same breaker and are powered together with the pump.

No EPC. However I have been battling random misfire codes for a few months, CEL comes and goes. I've been wondering about fuel delivery since they are random cylinders reporting and I have new plugs and coils.
I'll scan it tomorrow. Would I need to be scanning while it's not starting, if there is no EPC, is it saving the error?

It saves the error from prior faults, even if at that moment you are testing the pump works.

Happened to me a couple of times when i forgot to switch the fuel pump on before starting.

Hi. I'm experiencing the same issue. Have you managed to resolve yours?
