S4 Seat Tilt Not Functioning - DIY Repair?

I just bought a very clean seat of black leather S4 seats and went through the trouble of performing a very OEM installation of them into my '01 Avant 1.8TQM. They were advertised to work 100%, but I discovered the the rear section of the driver's seat bottom does not tilt up/down. However, I can hear the motor try to move when pressing the switch. The front section of the seat bottom does correctly move up/down.

I'd like to fix this because the seat bottom is quite high right now and head room is tight!

Has anybody been down this road before and have advice or tips? Thanks!

Not sure how much help I can be but I had the exact same situation happen to me. It stopped working after I took the seat out and put it back in. After a few weeks it magically came back to life...

Thanks, that would be great if that happened in my case, but I'm not holding my breath. It's showing no signs of coming to life again.
