    Steering - Comfort vs Dynamic

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
    Has anyone else noticed this?

The steering feel in comfort feels lighter, crisper, and more linear. It's just more responsive. Dynamic feels heavy and laggy.

I noticed this after doing some back & forth comparisons doing slalom turns at various speeds. Dynamic feels the same as Individual, as I have steering set to "dynamic" in the drive select.

I am testing this after a recent suspension mod - (rear sway bar, front & rear end links). I've never did this kind of testing when it was stock so I don't know if the mods had anything to do with the effects on the different drive select modes for steering.

    Thoughts?

You're absolutely right. It's just too bad that comfort is a little too light. I find that the "auto" setting is a good compromise between the two, but dynamic is too artificially heavy and just doesn't feel quick enough.

My experience is solely based on aggressive driving on twisties, not a road track, but I find I prefer Comfort on tight twisty roads, and dynamic on roads with higher speeds and more sweeping turns. Seems pretty logical, and likely means Dynamic is best for the track or really high speed driving, and Comfort is better everywhere else. Of course, it also depends on personal preference.

I think one of the main reasons I don't miss my B7 RS4 was the euro wheel (which is fairly small) made for some pretty heavy steering at low speeds, and it gets tiring for daily driving.

Most people seem to think that even dynamic is too light. Guess its just personal preference in the end. I prefer dynamic and find comfort and auto too light.
