There are many places. Low and high side. Most high sides use banjo fittings so we can strike yhose from the list.

If it popped off, where do you see it hanging? Or why do you think it's leaking?

well its actually for a friend, he said there is about a foot of hose just hanging I believe towards the back of the motor and he doesn't know where to route it to connect it again. not sure if that makes sense but thats how he described it to me. I searched for some kind of diagram or something but couldnt find anything.

I don't believe there are any low pressure hoses near the back. Most likely not power steering. Get him to send you a pic.

The power steering hose at the back of the engine is metal but after 6 or 8 inches it turns to rubber and heads to the steering rack, if it came loose its most likely he'll need a replacement cause its a high pressure

I believe this is what happened, so after he gets a replacement how does it go back on? thats what he cant figure out. Is there a link for a DIY anywhere? I searched but couldn't find anything.

or is it really simple and we're just noobs...lol

thanks for the help, I appreciate it

Nope, that hose goes to the rack and it's a shit job unless the engine is out. Getting the new hose in there, especially while contorting your hand to keep the banjo bolt and new crush washers in place while screwing it all together, sucks. Replace the smaller hose that connects to the rack while you're doing everything.

Yikes, that sucks! especially since I'm pretty sure he recently pulled the motor for something unrelated and already put it back in. Sucks to be him lol.....

This is the hose in question, see how it turns to rubber as it hides away behind the aluminum cover and once inside it turns to steel again as it bolts to the steering rack

    power steering hose popped off?

so I showed him the pics. this is what he texted back

"It goes from power steering across motor to res.
Across eng. in steel tube somewhere it connects to rubber with factory hose clamp"

Do you know what hose that is? I guess he needs to know where that hose goes. sorry for the confusion.

Have him send you a photo. He seems to be describing one of the supply hoses, but that contradicts the hose hanging from the rear of the engine.
