Just About When Suspension Work Was Underway, Oil Found

I found more oil present today exterior to the bottom of my oil pan. I even noticed a small trail of oil around the sway bar area. I'm not sure what could be leaking. In-spite of cleaning out the area, it looks as if the oil can be originating from almost anywhere.

What are the common leaks situated in this area on an Audi A6 C5 2004 3.0L. There are no chain tensioners to worry about here.

Should I suspend the work on the suspension and look for the origins of the leak first?

    Thanks

I had a similar problem with my Allroad and continued on installing new upper and lower control arms and shock absorbers.

Some months later I replaced both valve cover gaskets which were less than two years old and cured ninety five percent of the oil leakage.

I also replaced the spider valve assembly and replaced the oil cap with the vented version to ensure there was not a build up of pressure inside the motor.

It almost seems the PCV system is the one of the common faults on these Audi models. With all the local driving done lately, it would seem there is potential for sludge to build-up. I should probably begin changing oil every 3,000 miles from now on. Thanks for your advice.
