Best Place to Purchase AWE Exhaust

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
I'm 98.63% sure I want to pull the trigger on an AWE Touring exhaust (with diamond black tips), but am unsure on where to purchase. I noticed some websites carry them for ~80 less than what they are asking on AWE's site w/free shipping, but not sure if those are reliable sources.

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance!

Essentially every dealer listed here is legit http://www.awe-tuning.com/dealer-map/. Some dealers (ourselves included) try to carry the popular kits in stock as AWE stocks nothing and builds everything to order, during the peak of the season the lead times for AWE exhaust manufacturing can grow to about 8 weeks so if you can find a shop with it in stock that will make the difference in getting a system installed in August or October. Right now we have one AWE SQ5 diamond Black system on the shelf though there are two people that have expressed interest in it, I will check with both of them tomorrow to see if either is ready to move forward and if not the exhaust would be available for you if you wish. Achtuning offers pricing at 5% off MSRP on AWE exhausts with free shipping in the continental USA.
    Thanks!

Gotcha! The last in-stock system went out a couple of weeks ago. You'd be looking at a 2.5 week lead.

Like others said, there is a wait time. I had to wait about 4 weeks. :( I got the 3.0T touring with black tips and it is awesome. PITA to install to get the tips aligned but the sound is great.

    +1 for @Mops,
I purchased a Touring AWE exhaust with DP's and black 102 tips from him, he gave an excellent deal.

I was the same and then came across a local used system in the final hour (ended up saving $650). Just got it installed last night, and it's definitely worth the full price though. Completely transforms the car, and I should have done it sooner!

I currently have my intake off due to a dealer visit last week (and maybe a follow-up coming too), and I'm not sure I want to put it back on now that I have the exhaust. The exhaust sounds so perfect, and I'd hate to drown it out with the s/c whine. Never really liked the whine in the first place...just not my cup of tea I guess. My point to the OP: it won't 'sound like that' as I'm pretty sure Q5 Dave has an intake in those vids

Yes I have the USP Motorsports intake system. Hmmm now I'm interested to hear the exhaust w/o whine.

Granted I'm pretty wet behind the ears, but I can't imagine ever getting sick of hearing the pure exhaust. I just want to put my foot down. The s/c whine I definitely get sick of, and it makes me stay out of the gas sometimes...which isn't a terrible thing, but kind of depressing (no pun intended, lol).

Just a random question but as far as Audi factory warranty fine print goes.....Does putting an aftermarket exhaust on the car void your warranty entirely or just related to O2 sensors and things directly related to the exhaust system?

Here's a video that compares exhaust: ( stock, awe touring and awe touring non-res downpipe outside car gopro attached rear hatch) and (inside cabin windows downs and windows up and highway cruising) I have modded stock airbox and intake pipe so no real supercharger whine. Hope this helps.

Well, technically it doesn't void anything unless there are problems that they can attribute directly to the exhaust. I spoke to my service guy about it before I did it, he said there really wasn't much to worry about with the exhaust. Had mine in there for service since and there where no problems. I also added the Electronic Valve Simulators which I am told prevent any faults by making the car believe that the valves are still opening and closing (the system has no valves) when switching drive modes.

Let me just say that I have the AWE Touring Exhaust on my SQ5 (standard setup - do not have the Non-Resonated Downpipes) and it's excellent. I have a separate post about it somewhere in this forum. Anyway, for day to day driving it really isn't much louder than stock. In "D" and Comfort mode, you would hardly know the difference. of course, the higher the RPMs the more growl you are going to get. So in "S" and Dynamic mode, your up and downshifts come much later and you get a far louder, more aggressive tone. But for me at least, there is zero drone and when you are cruising, even in S/Dynamic, the sound is not overbearing. The ONLY time I find it a bit loud is on cold start, the 1st 15-20 seconds of idle you get a little bit of a hum in your ear. Aside from that, the system is terrific and for me it really upped the driving enjoyment factor. I'm in the Montreal area, had it made to order, waited about 6 weeks from order to install (I also ordered at the busiest possible time of the year so that may the extreme). Well worth the wait though, highly recommend it.

I finally got my AWE Touring exhaust installed today. Love it! Curious what the "modded stock airbox and intake pipe" you speak of is. I'm also not a fan of the SC whine with most of the intakes, but wouldn't mind a little more sound from it.

Lots of info in b8s4 forum on intakes; some like myself decided to mod the stock air box 1.) to not let hot engine air in; 2.) I didn't want to sound like a ford Shelby cobra . 3.) remove restrictions in stock box And tube to TB.

Here are 2 threads that might help. The one thread no longer has the photos but if you opened the box you'll see the restrictions. I also replaced the stock tube with the APR Stage 2 CF tube and did the extra hole at the front base. In the car you hair the exhaust with windows down faint supercharger whine .
