    Front caliper guide pin stripped?

I have been having some issues with my front left brake for the past couple of weeks (2001 quattro) and I went to remove the brake pads to inspect them, top caliper guide pin came out, however the bottom pin appears to be just spinning no matter which direction I turn it. Does anybody have any suggestions? I would assume it is stripped. Can I pull the caliper carrier off? I installed them last, and I made sure they were not crooked, nor did I believe to have overtightened them.

Are you sure the pin is spinning and it's not just a stripped allen head on the bolt?

I'm positive the pin is spinning you can see it poking out of the other side. The whole pin spins.

Happened to me on a 98 Beetle. Sucked. Ended up swapping in a different spindle

You could heli-coil it, but I would go with a replacement spindle too.
