So I've recently decided it might be time to move on from my A8 which has easily been my favorite DD I've ever purchased. If it doesn't sell I won't have a problem holding on to it and loving it some more especially come winter.
The car was bought locally from a Etobicoke dealer, I'm the 2nd owner (on paper technically 3rd as the dealer who took it in on trade from the original owner registered it I believe). It's an Ontario/Canadian car.
The car is a short wheel base car, with the 4.2L Direct Injected V8. It has approx 196 000 km on it right now and is bone stock except for wheels and lowering links. Body and paint on all the metal parts is in fantastic condition and is original paint with no corrosion. No dents, with just a few very light scratches that can be polished out except on the trunk lid, it has a faint line that almost runs the length of the panel. Minimal stone chips on the front end as well. All in all it has sub-normal wear for it's age and mileage.
Both front and rear bumpers could use a touch up though, it was something I had planned to do late this year or early next if I keep the car. I do have a set of European bumper strips to eliminate the orange bumper lights that I would be able to include as well if you like.
The car is currently sitting on 20x10.5 MRR wheels, wrapped in 275/30/20 Bridgestone Potenza RE760 Sports all around now for the 2nd year. The tires will still pass safety without issue, but it's a heavy car and sitting quite low so it is what it is not sure if a complete 3rd year is in the cards for them. These wheels and tires do not rub at all, there is no damage to the fenders, and nothing has been modified to run them. I also have the OEM turbine wheels (19") wrapped in brand new Michelin Pilot Alpin PA2 (sport winters) that I just bought last winter along with 25mm spacers and extended bolts all around, they have approx 3000 km on them. Both wheel sets will be included if I get asking price.
Air suspension is fully working and in great shape. No leaks, and zero issues there. Front upper control arms were replaced with Febi arms and set for the new drive height at the time of installation. Again lowering links are installed but can be reverted to OEM links (I have them) if you don't like the non-OEM height. The currently links are adjustable so you can do up and down as you please of course.
The engine runs great, in Jan 2016 I pulled the intake to replace a coolant hose at the back of the engine (ended up replacing all of them as preventative maint and to avoid having to do anything else back there) at the same time I did a complete decarb, along with a few other minor repairs like intake flap motor (purchased a brand new intake flap runner motor) and fixing the PCV system leak.
I also did a fully transmission service on the car shortly after purchasing it - new filter and fresh original/correct ZF fluid (not aftermarket or OE equivalent) as used. Tranny has no issues.
Rear brakes are completely new (OEM pads w/ Zimmerman coated rotors) about 1 year ago, and the engine only sees Liqui Moly 0W-40 oil (recently changed) + OEM or OEM after market filters. Also changed during the last oil change as well is the carbon air cabin filter, and air filter. Burns virtually no oil (~0.5L between oil changes).
Interior is in fantastic shape, the leather is conditioned every few months with either Leatherique or Autoglym products no tears or major wear. Car is loaded with full MMI that includes NAVI (Updated to 2015 maps), fully phone Bluetooth, 6-CD changer and I recently installed an Audi Music Interface with a USB port (can play MP3 files from a hard drive or USB stick), you can also purchase Android and iPhone cables for a direct interface for you phone/iPod, etc. for approx $20). Has parking distance sensors/radar (Front/Rear) + Backup camera as well. Yes the MMI screen doesn't flip closed anymore (not a big deal to fix, just never bothered me enough to fix that).
I have brand new Audi Monster mats for the front and normal Audi rubber mats for the rears (very hard to find Audi monster mats for SWB A8) purchased last year, and the original fabric mats I use during the summer.
Just did emissions test in March of this year, no issues as you would expect. No CEL or any lights on the dash. Everything works as it should mechanically/electrically. Safety shouldn't be an issue either. It obviously has the complete keyless package/KESSY so you never have to take the key out of your pocket. I have all the keys for the car as well (2 master + valet and key tag).
Battery is also new (just over 2 years), direct from VW/Audi (OEM Varta) so no worries there either. Along with a brand new set of OSRAM Night Breaker HID bulbs installed approx 6 months ago which in conjunction with the active headlights is phenomenal. License plate lights are upgraded to LED with direct fit lenses (not just drop in bulbs to the stock holders/lenses), have the originals of course if you don't like the LED look.
Fuel mileage for tho's who are wondering. On the highway the car is amazing I average approx 8.5-9.5 L/100. Mixed driving you will see anywhere between 11.5-13 L/100 and with short trips closer to 14. Well worth it for the amount of car. It's an 85L tank. I generally see around 600 km per tank with my drive cycle on the 20 inch wheels. Car only ever gets Shell 91.
I'm sure there is more that I'm forgetting, but any interested parties should contact me for more info and we'll go from there. Oddly enough I have exactly zero interior shots which is unfortunate since it really makes the car.
