VAGCOM Coding for factory trailer hitch kit

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
I am installing the factory trailer hitch on my 2015 SQ5. There is a control module that needs to be coded in. Does anybody know the VCDS coding for this? I'd rather not have to go to the dealer for it.
    Thanks in advance

Ditto. About to undertake this myself. I posted on AW and someone posted the procedure for the Q5 up to '12.

Anyone? I've done the physical install. I just need to code the module in. I'd rather not have to pay the dealership $150 to just plug it into their computers.

On a side note, the instructions included with the kit are terrible. Thankfully it's a very straightforward install. And either my kit was missing the bracket to hold the control module in place, or it's not part of the kit.

Well, that didn't work. And I lost my backup sensor and camera functions.
So I'm headed to the dealer to have them take care of it.

Do you still see the backup sensor module in VCDS?

It was still there, but activating only part of the trailer module deactivated it. I could have reversed everything I did, but I still needed to go to the dealer to have them code in the module. So I decided to just leave it and have the dealer reset everything to the default settings before installing the module.

Also, for anyone looking to do this, the factory kit does not include the required bracket that holds the module in place. I had to buy it separately. Cost was $55 with tax using my wholesale account. List is $86.81. The part number is 8R0-907-297-A.

Did you ever get it? After much trial and tribulation, I finally got mine coded with the VAG-COM.

Not really. The coding that I found didn't work (I actually lost my backup camera and parking sensor functions). I could have reversed what I did and then spent some time going through all of the VCDS menus to do it myself. But I was pressed for time that day, so I called my SA and he took care of it for me.
If you remember what you did to get it to work, post it here so other people will have the correct info in the future.

I'll have to do some digging tonight and find the thread I found that worked. I went through hell trying to get mine to work but after a bunch of trial and error and searching I got it figured out.

I believe this is the link that I found the information in, somewhere on page 2 or 3.
