so I've read the how to, shoved some string trimmer wire up and down my sunroof drains and made damn sure its clean, however everytime it rains my driverside a pillar is soaked and you can see some water stains from it running down the back of the a pillar trim and hitting the dash frame. The B6 cars have a connector that sometimes leaks up in the headliner, do the B5s have this? However my headliner is completely clean, just my driverside a pillar with stains and of course I can't duplicate it myself. is there anyway to change the tube? it looks like its in the a pillar in a hollow between to pieces of sheet metal under the airbag.

Do you ever see it wet or do you just see the staining later on? Are you checking for leaks with the pillar trim off? Open the sunroof and use a water hose or jug to completely fill up the water tray, if there is no leak you may have a small windshield leak, has it ever been replaced? Usually those will leak into the dash/floor though.

I can see when the pillar is wet actually feel it, I touch the pillar after a rainstorm and its wet to the touch, I removed it and checked and didn't see anymore leaks, just had a torrential downpour here and went back to the car and the pillar is wetter. Windshield is not original so that is a good point, I'll have to check that, they were very sloppy with the urethane it looks like.

Each drain is connected to the sunroof under the headliner. They can come off - one of mine did. Had to pull the headliner down slightly and reconnect it with a zip tie to keep it on.
