    A/C not working :( 2015 s4

After installing my CTS intake I went for a quick test drive... 5 mins in I realized there was no cold air blowing even though the A/C light was on. It did this a few days prior as well, before installing the intake, but the next day it was fine.

I figured this would be a similar case but I was wrong. Still no cold air and the A/C button won't even stay red, just flashes and goes off.

    Questions

    1) first things first could I have hit/bumped/messed something up while installing the intake?
    2) anything i should be looking for specifically?
    3) I've read that the pressure switch is located near the passenger headlight? maybe i bumped it or something, anyone know exactly where i should be looking?

    Thanks in advance guys!

    Hey man!

So this happened to me a few months back. I would turn on the A/C and then it would turn off and blow hot air. So I put a can of freon in and it did not solve the issue. I ran some diagnostics using Carista and it showed the following:

    Heater and Air Conditioning:
01187 - Rear Temperature Flap servo Motor (V137)
01314 - Engine Control Module (ECM)

So after talking with my mechanic I reset the codes and the A/C light would then remain on, but still no cold air. Took it in and had my mechanic take the dash apart to check the flap/motor for the a/c and everything was working. Turns out we just needed two more cans of freon. Hopefully it is an easy fix for you man! Good luck!

    this does not sound right.

A/C systems are closed loop and you should actually never have a need to 'recharge' your system.

The only way you lose refrigerant is if there is a leak in your system, that said, if you have a leak in your system, adding more refrigerant will not solve your problem.

OP go over your intake install again, if you are positive it worked before the install and now it doesn't

it definitely worked before the install, but this same issue popped up 4 days prior to me doing the install. Went for a drive, no a/c, shut car off and on and a/c was back.

just this time a/c won't come back. gonna go scan now

It sounds like it could be the AC pressure switch. This happened to me last year and was replaced under warranty.

If it doesn't blow cold air even when in Park or Neutral, then it's the pressure switch. The B8.5 cars sometimes had this defect and is a warranty fix. If it blows cold air in those two drive conditions but now while moving, then it's a code that got tripped in the A/C system. Clear DTCs and it'll be back to normal.

Since putting freon in, I haven't had an issue. It has been a couple months now. Hopefully I do not have a leak, but so far so good. thanks for the input.

scanned the car and no fault codes... so i think it may be the switch. Made an appointment for tomorrow morning.

on a side note, do i need to swap intakes? i guess its up to the dealer whether they want to flag me or not :/

I'm not saying this is it
But with the company vehicles that we have
This is usually caused by the heater coil.
It won't do its job and will only blow regular/hot air.
I'm not an Audi mechanic so these are just my 2 cents.

    Just like sickadance said,
If you think you might have a leak, go get the test kit with the uv liquid that'll show you.

x2 your are in houston with a 15 and trying to diagnosis this yourself? im all for wrenching but since you have warranty, use it.
there is something wrong with your hvac system. i wouldn't personally want to recharge with a diy can. the gauges that comes with it are garbage and there is a possibility you might overcharge the system.

my pops had a 4 year old gen6 camry that just rolled over warranty when the ac stopped blowing cold air in the summer, it was warm air. not wanting to spend money on it, he wanted just a recharge. i charged it up with a can and it blew factory cold air for about 12 months. the following year, the ac was only blowing hot air. the diy freon couldn't help the ac keep it cool past 1-2 months, ended up trading the car in. point is, even if you recharge it, it's still a bandaid at best.

    UPDATE

Car is at the dealer now, been there for 4 hours and they still haven't found the reason. Ill update when they call me back

thanks for the input guys! I was going to warranty it anyways, but i figured if it was something small i could do vs taking it to the dealer, getting a loaner blah blah blah.

What he's saying is that you absolutely have to have a leak. It's not possible to lose refrigerant in these vehicles without a leak.

Mine was working fine today parked at bank got back in 5min later and only hot air blows! Wtf! Dealer can't see it until Thursday and no loaners for two weeks! Nice job Audi! Hoping it's something simply like pressure switch but now I'm out for the foreseeable future
