    Should I sell my 60k mile A7?

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
    All,

Love to hear everyone's opinion and experience. I have a 2012 A7 and just a little over 60k miles. I have had it service at the dealership since day one and so far everything is running great. About 2months ago, I had to get my brake pad replaced for ~$350 and thats when i realize some of the basic wear and tear might be coming. I am looking to for justification to keep or sell my A7.

    Thanks!!

Sell it! Especially if it's paid off. Sell it and pick up a new car payment.

The mileage alone is not a good reason to sell. The 3.0T/ZF8 powertrain is very reliable, and maintenance on the A7 in general is not bad. Should be able to take you well beyond 100k if you so desire without much trouble.

On the other hand, if you just want something new, then sure, go for it!

From a purely financial perspective you should keep it, as the maintenance cost per year will almost assuredly be less than the cost of a new car, and the likelihood of a major issue in the near future is low. Now if you had 160k miles that might be a different story.

Now if you just want something new with latest features/technology etc that is a totally different scenario and the amount of miles on your current car don't really factor into that.

I kept my A7 until it had 120K on it and the only major repair was the thermostat at 80K miles. Even the items that were wearing were far less than a monthly car payment. I did trade it in December for a 16 S7 but not because of the car, just wanted something new.

These cares are very reliable. 139k on my 2012 A6 currently and aside from oil changes, I've replaced the brake pads and front disks. All far less cheaper than a new car payment for sure. Doesn't hurt that I do my own work, but even with dealer fees, it should be a damn sight cheaper.

Agree. C7 is a well built and reliable platform. 60K is still relatively low miles, and if the majority were highway, even better from the perspective of wear/tear. So, unless there is something else that you can't get out of your mind, why not keep driving your current car.

Thanks everyone, I really do love this car and rather not sell it. It's comforting to hear that some of you had kept it to high milage.

Wait another year, perhaps when your still less than 75k....the technology is constantly changing. The 2017 is already impressive.

If you like debt, sell it.
