Laptimer boost gauge = actual valkue (I have no boost)

This might be a known item, but I always wondered if the boost meter on the laptimer screen was displaying actual values or the value specified by the ECU. I can confirm its the actual values, as I appear to have no boost (again) for some reason. Im going to take the car in for service to have this fixed, but I thought I would share what I discovered on that. :)

I confirmed this by logging actual and specified with VCDS, and I can clearly see the specified value rising through acceleration, and the actuals only climbing slightly. This is the second time this has happened. The first time was a cracked vacuum line.

I notice this happening to mine from time to time. Especially as it fights with the transmission (I have the TCU flash). Even more odd, is my shift lift doesn't seem to work - yes I know it needs to be in manual. Am I crazy?

Do you mean shift LIGHT?
I addition to manual mode, the light is only on the HUD when the lap timer is selected in DIS & only if you don't have NAV or ACC guiding you as that supersedes the lap timer.

For what it is worth, i had a boost sensor failure recently on one of the banks. It didn't threw an error on the display and was like in semi limp mode.
Onl a vag scan showed there was an sensor failure.
I still had some boots but very minor.....
