    Finally!!

After endless searching, I finally picked up my first S4. 2013 Ice Silver Metallic 6MT. Upgraded from a base model 2006 Subaru Impreza non turbo (clearly the difference is unparallel). Originally, I was a little skeptical about the color but have come to fall in love with it. Will grab some pictures when the weather is a little nicer but I am happy to finally join the Audi family.

lol yes! my subaru was manual and I was not ready to let it go yet. Still thinking about what mods should be done, this thing FLYS stock. Was thinking of doing some exterior mods first before touching the motor but I may not be able to help myself.

any suggestions on exterior mods without making it look too cheesy? i was thinking maybe some tints, black front grille, and possibly some charcoal/black wheels? not sure how that would look. ive been looking on the forums and some people have some really sick Ice Silvers on here lol.

Eurocode Alu Kreuz or 034 X brace whichever you can find for cheaper. Night and day difference on my B8. No downsides to this, makes the car perform better and more comfortable. Straight forwards install with good instructions provided. Make sure you get the new bolts though.

Congrats! Welcome to the Unicorn Club (6MT).

I've done my first few mods already, despite initially promising myself I'd keep it stock! So far I've limited myself to a CR-15 strut brace, and 034 intake tube + K&N filter.
Cosmetically, mine already had the Black Optics package, so I've got the black grill and mirrors. I used Anthracite plastidip on the wheels (19" Rotors) to darken them up a bit without going full murder.

Start doing research for a new clutch. It is only a matter of time. Mine will start slipping WOT in second gear once I get into 5-6k rpm and I'm not even tuned.

If u don't abuse it the clutch will be fine. My first s4 had 105k and was fine. My 2nd car now is tuned 50k no issues. Just don't beat on it. Congrats!

thank you guys! I havent beat on it too much, it only has 18.5k miles bought CPO so hopefully they checked that out although i hear alot of dealers dont even look at the cars when they are returned off lease (whether or not thats true im not sure). of course i had to do a few pulls in it but other then that nothing too crazy. i hear there is a chip you can get that audi will install and also will not void out warranty? has anyone heard of/done this if it even exists? Im sure there are tons of threads on here i still need to find haha im also pretty new to the forums as well so ill definitely be on here looking at all the cool things this car can do along with some tasteful mods

Chipwerke Pro, just keep an eye on the classified section. Not as good as a Stage I tune but, easily removable and gives some power :)

Do not listen to the people who will tell you that a chipwerke is undetectable. Audi already posted a bulletin stating that they now have the technology to detect if a tuning box has been added. That being said, it is removable and nobody has come forward yet saying that they got caught with it. Its up to you, but if you use the box or any tune, you're taking a risk of Audi shitting on your warranty.
Since you're coming from Subi and have no first hand experience with fixing these cars out of warranty, my advice is to keep the CPO warranty intact, unless you don't care about fronting the cost of repairs. Its expensive if it does happen, even though the B8/B8.5 have proven to be very solid so far, unlike previous generations.

As for tasteful exterior mods, get ecodes, now. Black optics or RS style front grille. Lower with either springs or coilovers (if you're into that), maybe wheels and you're set. If you decide to get an exhaust, which IMO you should, go with the AWE Touring exhaust alone and keep your stock downpipes.

Congrats on the car and welcome to the forum! Oh and please, please search. Search in google and it'll bring up plenty of hits from this site. Anything you want to know (like what kind of lowering springs should I get, whats the best intake, any good tire recommendations, etc..) have been answered already.

    Edit: links added.

It's been a while since I've been on the forums but decided to come back and start reading/posting more. As an update; I am absolutely loving this car although I do have some minor complaints, I was able to get an absolute steal on a daily driver which I use to commute back and forth to work and not rack up the miles on the S. I have added tints as well and after all this time I only have one stored picture but as promised, here she is. The daily driver is a pretty big junker but gets me back and forth with no issues and has really helped in keeping the mileage low. Just got the 35k service done which was covered under the Audicare from the previous buyer and since it was free the dealer also changed the break fluid for the 35k although they said it's usually done at the 45k service. Besides tints i haven't done any mods yet but I think now it is either out or will be out soon of the factory warranty. I actually hit a curb the other day stupidly pulling into my friends driveway which I have done thousands of times before and got some pretty bad curb rash on the front left tire. (also pic below). As soon as I heard it almost threw up lol. At the time of purchase I bought the additional wheel/tire warranty (which apparantley you can only buy at time of purchase) and I was told this covers cosmetic but I am not 100% sure. I'll prob give the dealer a call sometime this week and see if it is covered. After searching the forums, it seems theres some back and forth that some people it was covered and some it wasn't. A lot of people say only if there is structural damage to the wheel that its not holding air or the rim is bent, etc. Would anyone happen to know?

    Thanks,

Sorry, but low profile wheel designs are dumb. It's way too easy to damage them. At least you can get a refurbished OEM wheel from a refinisher like wheels america for $250 or they can fix yours.

Apree. With a manual transmission Chopwerke Pro should do well. It did not behave well for me in my Q5 because I have the ZF 8 speed auto transmission. It was abrupt and delayed during part throttle shifts. Power was there, though. For those who have a manual, it should work fine.

OP, you may eventually want a true software tune, but it would be a good, inexpensive first step. Probably a good 70 hp gain, maybe a bit more.
