    Help finding discontinued part.

Heu guys well after having my s4 on the road for a week, it decided to develop a nasty coolant leak shredded the accessory belt, luckily not the timing belt.

Well considering it's time to do the timing belt job anyways I pulled the lock carrier (radiator, headlights, moved condenser out of the way, etc.) So I can figure out the exactly where I'm leaking from. Well the front water pipe is rotted through (goes between thermostat housing and oil cooler) I know I can get that easily as well as the hoses that go with it. After all 16yrs old and 200k+ miles not surprised about it. Now I noticed the hard pipe that connects to the lower resivoir hose (route behind the left side turbo inlet etc) part number (078 121 065 H) is pretty bad looking as well. So I figured replace it. Well, it seems to be a discontinued part. Anyone have any idea where I can get a replacment? Or has anyone modded this into a silicone line or anything. Regular rubber cooler line worries me though considering it runs between the turbo inlet and exhaust manifold. Any ideas guys?

    Thanks in advance.

I just did a quick search for 078121065H and ECS Tuning has it listed for $71.75 at https://www.ecstuning.com/Search/SiteSearch/078121065H/, but the link doesn't have any picture of the part. I didn't see any listings for the part on E-bay. FYI... - Jim

That pipe is way too expensive new. I had to change it on a 2.8 I had a few years ago. Try going to the junk yard and look for any 2.8, you should be able to find it for way cheaper than it costs new and some may be in really good condition, maybe less than $10.00. You could even try to get it made in aluminum, it wont Rot like the iron OEM one does.

Edit: when I mean any 2.8 I mean, from an A6 and 96-01 A4 and B5 passat. This is not to be confused with the VR6 2.8. (just clarifying)

I new what you meant. I mean I do want to put a vr in audi since as much as I love the 2.7t I love the vr6 more. But yeah. Also to reply to some other people, I have found that the discontinued part was superseded. But the cheapest I can find (so far) is around $70 so yeah I may be trying to find a junk yard one.
