Removing sealant on vinyl wrapped cars

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
Hey all. I recently wrapped my r8 in avery nero satin pearl. I used chemical guys matte jet sealer sealant to seal the car. I did it by hand. I noticed that under lighting i can see some buff marks or left over residue from the sealant that is really hard for me to remove. I think its because the sealant dried too quickly ( unfortunately i was working under very sunny conditions and it was very hot out ). Chemical guys matte / satin detail spray helps for small areas but larger areas like the hood is still very apparent. Is there any suggestions on how to fix this without harming the wrap? Any safe methods to remove the sealant? Thanks in advance!

Let it cool off, and reapply the sealant over the affected areas, try that first.

Would reapplying sealant over the affected areas protect it though? Dumb question lol

You could try wiping that are with Alcohol and then re-apply the sealant.

Yea i am going to try that. Just wanted to be sure that it wont discolor or harm the vinyl in any way first.

Yes, because you'll be having an extra layer of protection.
I'm not too familiar with vinyl wraps, so I would err on the side of caution as far as using anything else to remove the sealant.
If anything, you could use a little bit of soapy water, say something like Dawn dish soap diluted 50:1 parts of water to dish soap. (roughly, just enough that you see some suds and feels the lubricity in it)
Then if that works, just wash well with water to remove any residue left behind, and then reapply the sealant.
