Need Recommendation | Pre Purchase Shop for a Q7 TDI | Kirkwood, MO

    Good Morning -

I live in Austin, TX and found a MY13 Q7 TDI in Kirkwood, MO. Unfortunately it's not a CPO vehicle, but with 25K miles on it, I can't imagine it's not in great shape; looks to be online.

Regardless, want to have a pre-purchase inspection done by an independent shop in that area.

Can someone recommend one or two reputable shops that I can contact to schedule something?

    Thanks so much.

Have never bought an out of state car before, so trying to minimize risk where I can. If pre-purchase is thumbs up, I'll likely fly up and drive home....if only it were a CPO. :(

There is an Audi dealer in Kirkwood MO (Audi Kirkwood) that could PPI it. Sometimes they will CPO if it is in good shape.

Is this Dean Team? If so, make sure it is PPI 'd. They have lots of cars with accident histories on carfax....I was looking at a RS7 that they had on their website. The car was not in their possession for the several months that I texted the salesman. They said a local guy named "Tommy" would trade it in any day ... Proceed with caution.

    Thanks for the response.

Yes, in fact it is the Dean Team. This is the vehicle: https://www.cars.com/vehicledetail/d...1884/overview/

Kurt/Karl the service/sales managers said that it'd be fine to have a PPI done. He mentioned the Audi dealer across the street too, yet said they're "arch enemies". That smelled funny to me, and now with your gracious response, I'm not sure I believe him. My paranoid/cautious side sez they probably get along fine, and if the Audi PPI comes back with flying colors and a "you should buy this" report, the Dean Team probably slimmed him a "hundo" or two. :/

I currently just bought a Q7 tdi and they wouldn't CPO it because of the law suit against the TDI motor that is in the vehicle

Oops I forgot about not being able to CPO a TDI. I talked with a salesman at Audi Kirkwood and they are indeed arch enemies. I can't think of a better place to have your PPI done then.

The sales guy at Kirkwood said to proceed with caution. Apparently Dean Team doesn't have the best reputation and he just said to be careful and get it inspected.

I was personally put off by them having a lead generator that they didn't have on their lot or even available and making up all sorts of stories about "Tommy"

If you like the car, I'd have it PPI'd and go for it if it passes, but would walk away if it doesn't.

Read the dealer reviews on the bottom of the link that you posted. Also read reviews on Yelp.

    also dealer rater
ive purchased from them before , not the happiest , and i havent gone back since
heres another thing though, its listed as prestige on cars.com, when listed as premium on their website
my experience is they dont even know which options which car has and what is standard and even the names of the packages on their cars.
