Anyone wrap or plasti dip their S4?

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
I originally was going to wrap mine satin blue but I just discovered the affordability of plasti dipping. Before I pull the trigger on either I'd love to see if others have considered one or the other?

Price for a vinyl satin blue wrap: $4200
Price for plasti dip: $800 +$100-$300 for satin finish (CustomDipWraps in LA)

Price for the wrap sounds a high to me, but I know it varies regionally.
Never plastidipped an entire car, but I'd be interested to hear about it if you went that route.

I have done different wraps and dips, not the whole body but some accents and specific pieces, currently I am using copper and I have carbon fiber wrapped the hood roof and trunk.

Yes, yes, we all know you're all about the clean OEM stock basic look. That's great, stop blasting people for wanting to be different and not the oh look another S4... it's our vehicles. .not yours, you're not going to change our minds or opinions.

How about not posting 8 pictures of you're car to a PUBLIC car forum then?

Don't put yourself out there if you can't handle criticism....

Dipping the whole car comes out great as long as it's done right, protects your paint for years too ;) Only thing I don't like is the black dip is tough to clean if you get actual dirt/mud on it. But the clear coats should help with that. Much better "bang for the buck" and you can dip over old dip for repairs or color change. I'm about to dip my whole mk4 jetta and wheels in 2 weeks or so. I'll post a pic or 2 when its done lol

I dipped my A4 last year, went with Volcano Red and my post about it can be seen here http://www.audizine.com/forum/showth...-Dipped-my-car

It took almost 2 days, with cleaning and prep. Taping off everything and learning how to make edges cleaner, and not having overspray was something I learned after I finished doing it myself. If you are having a shop do it professionally, I would ask to see if they have any cars you can look at, and examine the trim and other areas (between the doors) to see if there are tears or overspray. Their price seems really really high honestly, and I would ask for a breakdown on their costs. If their material cost is more than $5-600 I would look into buying the material yourself from dipyourcar.com

I had a blast doing it myself, learned a lot, and it would still be on my car today except I sold it and the buyer wanted it back to black. Took about 1.5 hours to get it all peeled off and cleaned, and could not be happier with the results. There are a lot of people who hate on it but if that is the route you want to go, I say go for it!

Had my old RS4 professionally dipped satin clear, lasted almost 2 years and the dealer that took it in on trade has it currently offered still intact.
