Exhaust leak I think, please help

Hello I took my exhaust apart today to gut the high flow cats. I have xs power 2.5" downpipes and fast intentions full catback. Idk if I'm dumb or if the previous owner gutted them already but there were no cats. Anyhow i notices that where the pipes meet the exhaust manifold the flange wasn't tight from whoever worked on it last. I put everything back together and tightened that flange down and now my car sounds odd. When I'm in first and second if I get high up in rpms (4K +) it feels like the engines gonna explode! It sounds totally different and the whole car vibrates. Any ideas as to what I might have done wrong?
