    75k dsg service

Took my car to the dealer Friday to get the filter and fluid changed on the transmission. Everything seems fine and it was cheaper than I anticipated, only problem is they seemed to only have only added 3 liters looking at the paperwork. This doesn't seem even close to right. When I brought it in for an appointment a week prior, they didn't have the filter, so I had to reschedule. I was told I would get hooked up for the inconvenience but I'm not sure now if he only charged me for 3 or only had to add three.. Anybody have paperwork for the dsg service to compare, or know first hand how much fluid is added.

They just did a change and not flush right? If so, that should be about right.

Okay, I've seen those kits that ecs and europa sells and was a bit confused as to what the correct amount was. Yes they didn't do a flush just an oil change.

my 75k service record shows 7 units (cant tell if it is Ltr or Qrt) of gear oil @ $69/unit. total was $483 for DSG fluid. I know that is probably overcharged - but wanted to keep my extended warrantee valid at the time . Good luck...

The correct capacity for the DSG transmission is 7 litres/quarts. Seems like the parts guy was sleeping on the job.

Transmission oil when they " change " it
All they do is drop the pan change the filter and the oil that they capture, they measure it and add what was taken off.
When they get their fancy machines to do a flush and get rid of everything completely then that's when they add the full amount.

Double check with them to make sure.

If they only changed the eternal filter (which from searching around is only what dealers do) then 3 liters could have been all it needed to be put back to capacity. If you use the Ecs kit, drop the pan, change the internal filter, external filter and let all the fluid drain, it's closer to 6 liters. I would have suggested doing a full service and cleaning the pan at 75k miles...mine at 47k had a decent amount of metal on the magnets.

I'll probably just do a full flush service in about 20k since I just did this oil and filter change. Hopefully by then I'll have a lift available, and will do it myself. I hate having the dealer work on my car, but didn't want wait to change the oil and filter.
