    Tick or rattle with AC on.

    The other day i noticed a little tick rattle like sound with my AC on, once i turn the AC off the sound goes away. B8 A4 110K miles

    Noticed this recently on my allroad; will be bringing it up at next service as still under warranty. Will let you know what the verdict is.

    I had this same issue and it ended up being the AC compressor giving out.

    how much was that?
    Swapping out the entire compressor assembly came out to $750

    My AC rattles when it's on high setting. Rattling seems like it's coming near or on top of glove box area.

    Yea same but i think mines coming from the bottom of the glove box but its definitely in the same area. Is yours minimal? Mine is pretty quiet but its an Audi and makes me think its worse than it is

    It's pretty loud when the setting is on high. It's not normal that's for sure.

    Funny thing is. I don't use my AC that often. I have 32 000km.

    Same here, I didn't often use my AC up until the summer kicked in and from one day to the next I started hearing the loud clicking noise and the compressor ended up being the verdict, And I was shy of 47k when it happened. Mechanic said to be careful having it on with the noise because the pulley for the compressor is a part of the entire belt system so if for any reason the pulley jams on the compressor it can blow the belt.

    Notice it's not only when the AC is on. When the fan is on as well.

    not too sure if u can hear it but there's whining noise from settings 8 onwards. Like how an airplane engines getting ready for take off.

    Turns out the blower motor was finish. Replaced under warranty.
