Will using Vag-Com codes void any factory warranties? New to this stuff. Thanks in advance.

I very much doubt it, but be very careful using vag-com. Stick to tried and true changes that have been tested by others. Don't be tempted to try an option that you see, especially in adaptations, as some changes are not reversable by just setting the adaptation to the original state again.

Just wanting to get rid of seat belt chime, unlock nav and phone controls and disable side marker lights just to start.

I was told a few months ago by my dealer here in Canada that if you have made changes (let's use window and sunroof control via the key fob) and there is now something wrong with the operation of (in this example) the windows or sunroof then Audi would likely deny a warranty claim.

I now reset everything before a service appointment. I am well known at my dealer and on my last visit the tech asked me about VCDS changes I had made. I told him I had reset everything but when he ran a scan (I had a warning light and fault codes relating to the Sport Differential) he said the system response indicated the overall coding was different than factory spec. When I checked my list it turns out I forgot to reset one item (adaptive brake lights). The diagnostic system gives the tech an option to reset to factory spec, which he did and then proceeded to diagnose the problem.

There is no "flagging" of the vehicle but based on my experience I suggest resetting your VCDS changes before a service appointment at the dealer.

Hmm, first time I've ever heard of that type of analysis dealer. I lease, so it's their problem in the end, they can just reset it they want but I have never heard of a vcds tweak causing warranty issues.
So you're saying that if you enable convenience feature for Windows to open and close them with a fob, and something goes wrong with the window then it's my fault? Seems like a stretch imo because we're just enabling features that are already available that Audi themselves coded for. If it caused a problem, I would blame Audi instead. Just my 0.02c

I agree it's a stretch. It was a sales guy who was previously a tech at the same dealership who told me about this a few months ago. One of his sales customers was having a challenge getting something fixed under warranty where the functionality had been changed by VCDS. The sales guy used his personal VCDS cable to undo the change and the warranty claim then proceeded.
