    B8 S4 Sachs Performance Clutch?

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
Hi all, so my clutch finally gave up the ghost and let go today after a very tame launch.

There doesn't seem to be many specialists over here in the uk, but I've been recommended a Sachs performance clutch with luk flywheel.

Has anyone had any experience with this setup and have any feedback?

I'm running MRC stage 2 software and pulley.

    Thanks

    Matt

I think there was a guy running this setup. I believe he posted about it in the "have to put my foot through the floor" thread.

Thanks for the reply guys. I have a mate that works for zf and really rates the Sachs organic. I guess I'll go for this then, not too bad for £1600 installed with luk fly ;)

I have the Luk flywheel and it's been great. They manufacture the OEM flywheel and I think the Luk flywheel is just the factory one without the Audi markings.

Zf develop gearboxes and test clutches and full drive trains. He didn't know how well the Sachs are regarded in the Audi world, but he has used the on seat and vw.

yeah i know ZF. I'm interested in the sachs depending on what the 15% more power threshold means in terms of actual #'s of transmittable torque (15% if I recall reading correct). I guess i can figure out what the oem threshold is and go from there..

I've just ordered the usp braided clutch line to go with the new install. Hopefully this helps prolong its life too :)

Has anyone run the clutch masters fx400 with a standard/luk flywheel?

Are you thinking about going with the ClutchMasters fx400 instead of the Sachs performance? why, if you don't mind me asking? i've never heard of anyone using it on here but maybe so.

Just the fact that my local shop over here in Southampton, UK recommend Clutch masters products too. I was looking at the FX350 and FX400. Apprently they can be used with a standard flywheel.

So.. I was thinking an FX400 kit with a LUK standard FLY may work ok.

I am having the FX350 kit fitted with a new stock flywheel, braided line from USP and the trans mount insert. I'm hoping it feels a lot better after :)

UPDATE - Clutch fitted with OEM flywheel. Only issue the garage is having, is selecting gears with the engine running... they are having a new selector rod machined to allow more adjustment (I may have this wrong), apparently the current setup is not disengaging the clutch fully due to the new FX350 being a lot deeper.

Also a point to note, the USP braided line only works for left hand drive only (so i am told). So i am still running a stock line.
