    Question A5 with S5 Exhaust

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
    Hello guys,

I need some advise. Is it worth it to get an S5 exhaust on a A5 other than the quad look? I'm getting the s5 dual exhaust for like $200.

Let me know what you guys think.

    Thanks!

You may be able to get the exhaust itself for $200 but it will take additional modification to fit which means more $. Even if you get it to fit I doubt you will get any performance or sound enhancement. Better to save up for an AWE quad exhaust

Thanks Sweep. You're definitely right about the performance and sound. My buddy has connections at the welding place. I can probably get this project done for $250 max without the diffuser. I'm going to try to negociate the price for the exhaust.

What year is your A5 and do you have the s-line package?

If I recall correctly you'll have to go aftermarket for a quad diffuser and even then fitment won't be perfect. Other option is to pickup a S5/s-line bumper and diffuser to fit perfectly

I'll look into getting the S-Line bumper. Now i'm being double minded. I might as well save up and get an AWE exhaust.

Nope. Save for an exhaust. There are lots of options out or you could build something as I did, didnt really like the sound of anything out, then again, it is a 4 banger. I'm pretty happy with my custom exhaust.

Forgot to ask, do you have the 2.0T or the 3.2?

You could fit the S5 exhaust, but you may not be happy with the sound. You would get the nice quad tip look, but the stock mufflers will still stifle the sound. Additional considerations include obtaining the proper valance to fit quad tips depending on what you have now, the additional heat shielding & hanger if your current setup is single outlet - this would only be ~$60. If you need a new exhaust I'm sure the S5 would be a cheap option, but if you want a better tone probably best to save up.

You're right. It's not worth it at all. I'm gonna pass on the S5 exhausts and save up for AWE.

    Thanks alot!

Instead of replacing the resonator with stright pipe, you can replace it with TR25.5 resonator. I saw a video on youtube. The guy had this setup on his S5
