Downpipe diameter difference

Im lookinh to go stage 2 on my audi and was wondering if there is really a huge difference jn downpipes diameter ?

I want to go a full 3" but the 2.76" seems to cost a bit less. So wanted to know if a 0.24" matters that much ?

That .24" may not sound like much, but it means that the 3" is 18% bigger than the 2.76"
