Audi MMI Wifi Network without SIM Card - 2015 Q5

Over from the S4 side but this thread is in regards to my wife's 2015 Q5.

Her car is an early 2015, has MMI Navigation, but no SIM card slot, so no Audi Connect. Today, for the first time she sent me a text saying that her iPhone was indicating that an Audi Wifi network was available. At first, I thought maybe she was near another Audi that may have had a broadcasting hotspot. When she got home, I asked her to show me, and sure enough one popped up after she started her car.

What is going on here? Can it be used? No settings to see what the password is in the normal MMI menus. Would it be in the hidden MMI menu? I activated the menu using the Carista app on her Q5 and my S4.

    Thanks!

It's for media streaming. Go into media, then hit the source button - you'll see the car's wifi network as a source option. The setup for it (including the SSID name and password) are in the media settings.

You have to have the MMI app installed on your phone for it to work. This is the only way I can get the MMI in my Q3 (non-Audi Connect, but I have Nav) to display album artwork. Bluetooth and MMI cable won't show it, but wifi streaming will.
