Audi RS7 Stage 2 and Audicare 15k prep?

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
I'm nearing my 15k service and my shop suggested I "return to as stock as possible" before going to the dealer.

Clearly, it's not a simple task to lose the downpipes. In addition, I've also got the Roc Euro intake, custom 3" exhaust piping and KW HAS suspension.

If you're on Stage 2 with downpipes, how are you handling Audi service?

I would not consider swapping out the downpipes, exhaust, or suspension. I would however definitely flash back to stock as that's the big issue when it comes to being flagged "TD1".

Your choice on the intake. Most dealer technicians will not bother entering that into the system, and even if they do, it would only matter if you had a failure related to the intake, like foreign object ingestion, which there's almost zero chance of.

I would think it might be cheaper to have the 15k servicing done by a private mechanic. I just had my 15k service done at Audi and they didn't do much other than change the oil and rotate the tires.
    How fast is fast?

Return the software to stock. I didn't on the assurances of a dealer that told me they wouldn't run a spec actual and I still got flagged. Returned to stock for my next scheduled service and that apparently resulted in the TD1 being removed .

Does flash back to stock not show in some kind of event logger?

That's the word from my dealer. Hoping to learn more today, but according to him it was flagged in Nov when I visited another dealer, and when they scanned it yesterday the flag was gone. What I need to confirm is whether it being flagged at all previously is problematic down the road.

Just a FYI on what I did. I ended up going to the dealer whom I've been going to for over 10 years across some 8+ other Audis and VWs I've owned. I've know the SA for that same amount of time. I was completely transparent and told him I needed 15k service and that my Audi was fully modded. I asked if there was anything I should do to make sure I don't get into any trouble. He said he would make sure the tech does not run a spec actual on the car and ignore all the mods. I also had some problem with clicking from the front wheels that I wanted them to look at. They did the 15k service and did a test drive. Acknowledged the sound but refused to dig further citing the mods. I asked what I should do and they suggested I have the shop that installed the springs and sway bars take a look. I asked what I should do if the shop identified a part that was not spring or sway bar related was at fault and they said I have to return it to stock before they can look because Audi warranty will ask if the suspension is stock. Suffice to say, they won't bend over for me but that's OK. I don't blame them for being careful. They didn't flag my car, so I can at least have my Audicare done there.

I always flash back before going in and never have mentioned the tune. Only other mod I have is spacers and the VAG-COM drop, neither of those have ever been mentioned.

I didn't flash back. My SA said they would detect it if they did a spec actual. But since they purposely were not doing one, they wouldn't detect it. I had a pretty obvious Roc Euro dual CAI in the engine bay I left in.

Fair to say, wherever you are, make friends with your SA. I've befriended mine and it's nice having an ally.
