How much fluid do I really need for a pan drop on a 2012 A6? Last time I bought a kit for my 04' 4.2L V8 S4 it was too much fluid and I had two quarts leftover. (I wonder If I could use these two quarts in the A6?)

I have 7 quarts on hand...all kits they sell online have 9.

When I had my transmission fluid changed recently I believe it took about 6 qts of the ZF Lifeguard 8 fluid. If the fluid have is the correct type for this transmission than by all means use it, if not than I would get the correct type.
