    Power steering fluid

Hello there, I just picked up a 2005.5 a4 Quattro with only 39k on it and the power steering is desperately low, it hasn't made any noises and when looking in it it looks like there is juuust barely enough to keep it from sucking in air so I am about to go and pick some up. Issue is my dealer is 40 mins away with highway driving so I'm worried the high rpms will suck in air. So I called and got the part number, he gave me G 004 000 M2, which is listed under chf 202 on pentosins spec sheet, problem is thwy say that started in 2006 onward, for 2005 they list chf 11s but Audi ref G 002 000 A2 which is different than what the parts guy gave me. My manual states "it will be filled during maintenance" and is useless as tits on a bull as obviously its never been filled, I cannot drive home to look at my factory manual so I'm hoping you guys can help me with a response before I make it to advance auto. Since the part number the guy at Audi gave me matches chf 202 is it okay for me to use it? As technically my car is considered under 2006 things with most parts correct? Does it even matter since supposedly chf 202 supercedes 11s? Also 202 is 7 dollars cheaper ironically...

Am I just worrying too much and just need to get what fits his reference number and move on?

    Thanks..
    Eric

    Audi dealers are carrying G 004 000 M2 these days. I have a Audi A4 B7 and I am running G 004 000 M2 without any problem.

CHF-202 and CHF-11s are compatible fluids. You can mix them without issue. Do not mix either of them with CHF-7.1 or any other variety of power steering fluid. My local Autozone carries Pentosin CHF-11S, but I would suggest Amazon.

Advance auto is where I went as they had it in stock (and sell both) when googling o Reilly says they have 202 but in reality they don't carry it, they sell 11s though. Thanks guys, the 202 was only 18 at advance auto vs 26 at the dealer btw

Reviving an old thread. Just changed mine with Pentosin CHF-202 using the turkey baster method. Turkey baste it out, fill, turn car on, turn steering wheel fully each way a few times. Repeat until its a consistent and clear green. I used the full liter. My car was previously pulling on uneven road surfaces (like where road was repaired with 4' wide asphalt strips). The pull went away.
