Lightbulb I did something very stupid... help

Alright so this all started with my passenger side front window not working.
I removed the door card, removed the motor and lo-and-behold, a mangled mess of regulator wire.

So I cut the wires, put away the motor(after all I don't want to damage it further so why reinstall it with a broken regulator), locked the outside handle (since the motor actually contains the locking electronics), put the door card back on and shut the door.

But oh, wait? What's this? The inside handle doesn't work. The outside handle is locked. I can't open the door at all.

And it hit me. I forgot to reconnect the hook line onto the interior door handle.

How the hell do I fix this.

    Please help.

Oh man. You might need to cut through the interior door panel to get to it. If that's what it comes to, you should have problem finding a replacement panel. I wish I could offer a better solution. http://pages.ebay.com/link/?nav=item...d=131694438298

If you removed the aluminum trim above the door handle would that give you access to the hook that connects to the handle? Since the door is shut you would have to cut through or trash the aluminum trim but they can be found all over ebay pretty cheap.

Is it possible to somehow use like a slim jim to directly open the lock? From when I just had a door card off while fixing the regulator I remember there being levers on it that could be pulled on it to open the lock if I'm not mistaken? But I could be mistaken.. I often am lol..

Try to remove the door card is all I can suggest. You'll break a lot of the plastic pins, but those are cheap. Hopefully you can get the door apart enough to reconnect the inside handle.

That's what I would suggest, as long as you can pop the trim piece off at the top that hides the 4 screws, you may be able to pull the door card off. The screw at the bottom may be the biggest PITA, although I think it goes into a plastic piece in the door itself so you might get away with just yanking on it until it pops free.

Maybe I won't even need to remove that screw if I can move the door enough to reach the door latch cable. I think I'll try this. My one concern is how am I going to get the top lip of the door card off the top of the door.. It didn't seem that flexible when I took it off the first time :/

If I end up destroying the door card, I know a scrap yard near my house (I live in Canada so Ebay isn't really an option). Will update on prices for the Canucks if that's what I end up doing.

If you have AAA it may be worth calling them out for locked out and see if they can grt it with a slim jim. Lot better than destroying your panel. The last time I saw a slim jim the truck driver opened the door faster than I could've with my key. It was pretty impressive, I myself haven't had much luck using them.

Its been awhile but the cable with the hook normally stays close to where it's supposed to go. If you cant pull the handle out to see it maybe drill through it to grab the hook. Once the door is open and panel is off you would just need to replace the insert to the handle or the handle not the whole panel. The other suggestion would be unbolting the front door hinges but that may not provide the wiggle room you need. Again, its been awhile since I looked at mine so forgive me if this doesnt make sense.

Yeah, I really doubt I could unbolt the hinges with the door closed anyways. Since the car is still in my parent's name I could probably use their CAA (I'm in Canada) to get that done.. I'll give it a shot if taking the door card off proves too difficult.

Holy shit i got it!!!! I managed to pry the aluminum trim off by only breaking one clip (the one closest to the dash). I then used a screwdriver to pry off the right top corner of the door card and there was just enough room to squeeze my arm through and reach the cable. My door is working!!!

Thanks for the suggestions everyone :) gonna go for a joyride now <3
