Just throwing this out there for any thoughts/insight when it comes to purchasing high mileage vehicles.
I'm looking at an '06 Q7 with 154K on the dial, well kept with records, and a number of high-mileage repairs recently completed, such as timing components, etc. At first, the high miles turned me off. But after studying the model more, I realized that if I bought a vehicle with a little over 100K on the dial, I'd be in line to do those same repairs out of pocket in the next couple years. With the higher mileage vehicle, I'm paying far less up front, and the repairs have already been completed, so it appears to be set up to run another 80K. Worst case scenario, I need to replace the motor, but I paid so little up front, I have plenty of cushion cost-wise for that. The seller is very highly reputable, as well.
Am I crazy, or is my logic (somewhat) sound?
