Air box mods? Has anyone done any?

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
I have herd of people doing the "flapper delete" or even drilling additional holes into the box. Have any of you done anything to mod the stock box?

Any tips, advice or suggestions would be great!

    Thanks!

Tried it - made no difference so put it back how it was. I would leave the air box alone at most change the filter to a performance panel.

I removed the flapper. According to Audizine legend JustIncredible it does increase the psi a lb or 2. Performance increase is neglible but the mod is free so what the hell. The snow filter can go if you don't drive in the snow.

DO NOT DRILL EXTRA HOLES IN BOX. Your trying to increase pressure not lose it.

DO NOT BUY AFTERMARKET COLD AIR SYSTEM. It doesn't work unless you relocate one of the radiators with a JHM kit.

Moreover, the stock snorkel fed air box is generally praised as a good design on our cars.

We few who are actually working on custom boxes that are insulated from that aux radiator are going to post our results on the forums once we are done with them. But yes, if you do not want to take the time to actually do the work on these, stay with the original airbox as said. Good luck.

I found the "snow filter" catches alot of bugs that would end up in my airbox

What difference does it make whether it ends up on the snow filter or in the air box?
