    Fitting a B8 front end on a B7.

I have a complete front end for a B8 ..hood, hood hingles, rad support, rad, lights, fenders, bumper and aluminum bar with struts. Any thoughts? I've done a B6 conversation to B7 and that went well.

did you forget that the B6 and B7 share the same platform/chassis ?

the B8 front end might not fit at all (body lines are very different from the B7)

It won't fit at all. Chassis on the B8 is much wider, all the mounting points are different. You could probably somehow custom fab it, but then you might as well sell your car and buy a B8.

You can get the bumper to work, to an extent, by chopping off its bottom half, and chopping your B7 bumper in half, and mating the two together.

Duct tape might hold it on for a while.

    lol these responses.

There was another member who did something like what you're asking. I can't remember who it was off the top of my head. That said, it was a custom job that involved him hacking up the bumper and figuring out to get it to fit. If you have the desire and skill, I say go for it.

I just honestly can't see that coming out good. Even if OP has the time/money/skills necessary to custom fab it, the b7 and b8 are far too different for it to look decent in the end IMO.

Yeah just doing a bumper mashup looks pretty good, but in this post he's talking about the headlight, hood, and fenders as well. At that point I just don't see how it could look good. The body lines would conflict too much and it would look like you glued a b7 and a b8 together

Here's who I was referencing above. Link

Point is, it can be done if someone had the right amount of time, money, skill, etc. OP, I found all of this by googling "Audi B7 to B8 conversion". Looks like there are several good sources if you decide to go this route.

I actually love how this turned out!

However, I do feel like with that kind of face lift and added aggression to the B7 front end you'd really need to tie into it with the rest of the car... As in, adding either the S4 door blade or the carbon fiber side skirts - and maybe a DTM rear.

Just having that converted front bumper would make the car seem half finished personally.

As to a full B8 front end conversion part for part... I don't think its a good idea in the slightest. The car would look very distorted with the body line mix and matching.

Personally I think that looks weird. Not to mention those photos are low res and with awful lighting. I guarantee you the lines and the bondo'd sections don't flow properly and look bad.

I think that from a handful of low res pictures on the internet it looks like the guy did a good job. However I can't help but thinking (knowing?) that in person in normal/decent light its going to look pretty crappy.

IMO grafting the front bumper from a different generation audi never works. B6 guys ALWAYS are posting threads about "Should I put a b7 bumper on??" and the answer is always the same. It just doesn't work right even if the fab is near perfect.
