been having trouble for the past couple of days starting my car, every so often it will have trouble starting, i get the engine to crank but the engine doesn't start, i had to try to start it again a second time the first few times this happened. but a day later my car wouldn't start i had tried around 8 times, left to go tell my car guru neighbor about it and when i came back my girlfriend had started the car. earlier today i got caught in the rain and the car wouldn't start again, somewhere between 30 to 40 tries and the would not start. someone suggested spark plugs, so i looked into that ( btw platinum spark plugs for this car at advanced auto are less then 4$ each, cheap af). when a ride arrived to take me to get the plugs my car was able to start, so i took it home. spark plugs dont seem like they would cause intermittent problems like this. someone also suggested the engine crank/ speed sensor, but apparently if the rpm dial at least moves when starting the car the sensor is fine and doesn't need to be replaced. next idea was maybe it was the fuel pump filter, but less then 10k miles ago ( less then 3 months ago) i changed the fuel pump filter, which i was late in doing and a the fuel pump went dead 2 days later which i replaced promptly. battery was also replaced with in the past 3 months.
Any idea what would be causing this? im limited in resources and budget. and any kind of fix or suggestion is welcome right now because i need to get it fixed ASAP so i can get back to work.
