    Angry Depo B6 headlight issue

So last year around august i purchased Depo (helix) RS4 style headlights.
    Here's the link https://www.moddedeuros.com/products...-fits-oem-hids

So at some point over the winter the passengers side headlight started to crap out on me. blinker worked, city light worked, high beam worked. the D1S bulb was not coming on. sometimes if i hit the housing it will come on, or if i went over a pothole (god forbid) it would sometimes come back on. then it got the point were it wouldn't turn on at all.

So some goods news, i picked up another S4 this past weekend and started swapping over all my aftermarket and newer parts to the new S4 along with my headlights.

So since the low beam wasn't coming on i figured it was the ballast or the bulb itself so i swapped both out with the ones i knew worked out of my new S4 and the low beam STILL DOES NOT COME ON. WTF..... so I'm guessing its a wiring issue with Depo fixture.

Has anyone run into this or similar issues with OEM or aftermarket headlights? tonight i'll probably use a electrical tester to make sure all wires are OK then go from there.

    TIA

I had a similar problem with OEM headlights, turned out to be the wire that connects to the ballast. It was in bad shape and causing a short, blew through 3 ballasts before realizing that the cable sheathing was ripped to shreds, some electrical tape provided a temp fix before I swapped the cable out. My headlight would flicker and then it would go out and come back on all on its own for a few days before it went out completely.

yep, the low beam is the one that uses the HID bulb so if you already swapped the bulb then the problem has got to be the ballast or the wiring. I'd try and swap the ballast first. Either way it doesn't sound like the problem is with the depo part at all. FYI there are some cheap reman'd ballasts on ebay and I don't recommend them. I have one and it's a slightly different color and seems to not be as bright as my other light that's still using the old original ballast, and I think it's because the new cheap ballast was reman'd in china and just isn't as good as a new valeo part. (the difference in age could also be part of it but if it was just that then I'd expect the newer one to be brighter, not the older one)

I had the same issue with my e-code depot lenses. One side would go out intermittently. I purchased a new lamp and it made no difference.so I started checking the wiring and found that the plug going to the ballast was not making a solid connection. I used a pic and spread the contact on the harness and it stayed on afterward.hope this helps.

i'll check this out. i know its not the ballast or bulb so wiring is the culprit
