Question Help me choose between two prestiges

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
Long story short, I recently had an accident and my 2015 loaded A3 was totaled, but it's presenting me the chance to get into a 2017 A4, and I'm in a bit of a time crunch since I only have a limited time to keep the rental.

    My two options:
    Manhattan Gray
    Oak inlays
    Cold weather package

    Or
    Glacier White
    Warm weather package

Both have the driver assist package.

I drive into NYC every day, so my concern is the manhattan gray is going to show every scratch.

I would put the xPel clear bra on both.

And my other concern is the tradeoff between ventilated seats vs heated steering wheel.

    Thoughts?

Interior color? Or is that the same?
Do either have a sport package?
Heated seats are great for our long winters, but I recently drove a GMC Sierra with ventilated seats and loved them. Not enough to by the Sierra, and I generally dislike the look of comfort seats.

White may hold up better between washes in the city, but I am partial to grey.

Both have heated seats, it's standard with the Prestige, but the cold weather package has the heated steering wheel and heated rear seats. Which doesn't do much for me.

I really do like the ventilated seats, but I also like the oak inlay.

If I wasn't in a time crunch I would do a special order or the white with the oak, but I've got a limited timeframe that insurance covers the rental.

Are all things equal? Both AWD? Both without Sport Package? Both with the same wheels? Only color, cold weather pack and trim is different?

I would pick based on exterior color before the trim would decide for me. You can easily have trim wrapped for a couple hundred bucks, or do it yourself over a weekend and spend a few bucks on the vinyl.

well it seems like fate chose itself. I was told I'm out of rental car allowance on Monday, but I did determine that the ventilated seats are important, so it was actually narrowed down when the criteria were driver assist, prestige, and warm weather package. And availability within a week.

    Mythos black, brown interior.

    Congrats! Nice color combo too!

IMO, I would have put out for a rental for a week or so to ensure I got exactly what I wanted, but to each their own, and as long as you're happy.

They were looking at close to 3 weeks before they could get the model I wanted. So it's 3 weeks out of pocket rental, and I'm actually starting to dig the brown seats. The other one I was after was glacier white with black interior, same options though.

I had a loaner A4 for a week before I got my Manhattan Gray with oak. I can tell you the oak is beautiful and worth it. The standard aluminum has a lot of glare when the sun hits and gets really hot to the touch after the car has been sitting out in the sun. Manhattan gray wasn't my first choice, but it's growing on me. It does get dusty rather quickly, but I'm not too sure about scratches.

I would try to upload some photos but I'm new so I don't know if I have the permissions for that. I can email you some pictures if you PM me.

I've got the Manhattan Grey and it is a beautiful color on the A4, IMO. It's especially pretty in the sunlight.

Mine doesn't have the oak trim, it has the gloss walnut. In case there is interest, here are a couple pics.

I guess life has a way of working itself out...
Neither option was the final verdict. I stuck to my desire to have ventilated seats, and there were TWO available in the northeast US in prestige trim.
So I will be winding up with a glacier white premium plus with the tech, sport, and first edition package.

I'm a little bummed about missing out on the traffic jam assist, but I think it's going to be a fantastic looking car, and the first edition package makes it a bit unique.

The interior with the darker colored plastics look so much nicer than the light gray. Nice ride!

I'm still a little bummed about losing traffic jam assist, but the HUD doesn't do much for me.
I am happy that I will be gaining the sport package and the first edition package though. The lowered car will be nice, and the first edition package, besides the ventilated seats, gets me the flat bottomed steering wheel and pretty cool looking wheels.

Anyone know if there was a limit to the number of first edition packages? I know it's not orderable any more.

clearly youve never experienced heated steering wheels.
