    Intake tube from eBay?

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
Hey guys! Have any of you tried replacing the stock intake tube with one of these?

    http://www.ebay.com/itm/Audi-b8-b8-5...-/111697241707

From everything I've read, it's really the intake tube that is the biggest killer of SC whine, as well as being restrictive. I'd like to keep the OEM look, so I don't really want to go to a full open intake. I guess there's also the S-Flow + stock airbox, which would include a filter for about $85 more. EDIT: I just calculated shipping, and the S-Flow would be about $44 more than that eBay tube + K&N filter from Amazon. Hmm.

    Thoughts?

I've got a Forge silicone tube and ITG replacement filter, still dead quiet. A full intake is the best bet for noise.

Ah, dangit! I want a bit of noise, but I don't want it to be too manic. Thanks for the reply though, I appreciate it.

If you want whine and still an OEM-ish look I would do a full ECS system.

Expensive but, gets what you want. https://www.ecstuning.com/ES3098755/

I just installed the AWE S-Flo filter and intake tube (keeping the stock airbox) and am very happy with it. Just enough whine for me and noticeable improvement in low end throttle response.

Did you do any modifications to the box to open it up?

That is a beautiful setup for sure. I might have to just save my toy funds and go all out instead of trying to half-ass it with a tube and filter.

Here's my "oem" setup for my A7. It's an 034 hose with an RS7 Airbox and k&n filter. Just as loud as my previous Injen intake.

For the $100 price tag of the ebay tube, why not just get the 034 silicon tube? https://store.034motorsport.com/sili...5-3-0tfsi.html

Lol no prob! Eurocode also makes one but it's $110. I'd say the 034 is your best bet

034 tube ordered. Total with shipping was $113.65, well worth it over an unknown eBay product. Now I'll head over to Amazon and pick up a K&N!
Thanks again for the help, you guys rock.
