Oil and sensor change done today

Hey guys, I switched out my oil for the B5 with some of the good stuff (I use M1 0w40 Euro) today. On top of that, my oil sensor warning has been active since I bought the car in September, and since the oil sensor is dual purpose, I haven't had a working oil temp gauge.. So I switched the pan sensor for a new one purchased from Napa this morning. Well, fire up the car after the job is done, no more oil sensor warning (Yay!).. However, my celebration was short lived... When the oil temp gauge was STILL not reading. I drove the car for long enough with the proper oil level to put some heat into the oil, and nada.. So I pulled the sensor wiring pigtail, and sprayed both connections with electrical contact cleaner, put it back together and still nothing. I cared more about the oil temp gauge, as my LCD is too faded to read well when it is warm out. I'm stumped.. Any suggestions?

EDIT: I forgot to mention, when you turn the ignition to "On", the needle for the oil temp gauge moves to 150, from below it. But it does not climb past 150 while driving.

Maintaining a 12 year old Audi is about as expensive as Charlie Sheen's coke habbit.

Update: As of this morning, the sensor now appears to read proper oil temp when the battery is turned on, but the needle will sputter down to 150..
