S6 Build: Orange, KW, Quad exhaust...

So here's my S6. I've owned a couple audis. I had a C4 A6 2.8 and B5 A4 1.8, then I saw this really rough looking S6 on craigslist for a good price and picked it up. I'd never painted a car before so I wanted to tackle that. It started out in bland Audi silver, and I painted it in an old GM orange paint code. I get lotsa Dukes of Hazard jokes now, but I really like it!

I did a muffler delete and added quad tips to the rear, BBS 19" rims and stock 17" rims with winter tires. KW stainless steel coilovers, and then small stuff here and there like drilled and slotted rotors, K&N intake, 034 Motorsport engine mounts, and a couple bushings here, and a hitch to tow around motorcycles. Its an awesome car and I really like it!

Since I added the 19" rims I picked it up a bit to make sure it didn't rub, but now I'm pretty sure I need to drop it down a little more. The wheels don't fit perfectly, I'm running spacers, but I got them for $200 on CL and I think they look good, so I'm not gonna complain too much.

Cool project, cool color, but why did you skip on the jambs? That would make me cringe every time I opened the doors.

It would just be a lot more work. It honestly doesn't bother me. I hardly even notice it. I'm not a professional painter, and since it was my first go, I wanted to do a doors shut, hood down job. It was already a GIANT job just to paint it. It had rust everywhere and I made sure that I got alllllll of it. So i kinda just obsessed over that and making sure it was all clean and prepped good.

Thanks! The backup sensors were bad and didn't work anymore. The metal rings they were seated in had rusted and look pretty bad and I didn't want to just leave them in there. So I tore them out and that left little quarter sized holes in the bumper. Then I took a hole saw, and turned them into big holes to give it a "diffuser" sort of look/function.

You can see the difference in the first two pics. Its pretty much... Because Racecar.

Next maintenance thing is to replace the rear toe eccentric bolts and polyurethane bushings. I had to order the bushings from "strongfelx" in Germany, but they came pretty fast

hahaha that's funny because that's exactly what I thought at first too. When It was still in the booth it looked SO ORANGE.

Exactly my sentiments.

*Love* the orange. Backup sensors holes look off but I'll overlook it because of orange. Carry on.

I'm getting it aligned pretty soon so I tried to get the ride height locked in. I'm a lot happier with it like this compared to the last couple pictures I posted.
